Principal's Message

Welcome to the 2021-2022 School Year!

We all know the journey that we have been through the past year and a half. That journey presented many challenges for our students, staff, and families in all areas of life, including education. But that journey also created opportunities. Through virtual and concurrent teaching and learning, many of our families had the opportunity to become more involved in the day-to-day teaching and learning of their student.  Our teachers and staff had the opportunity to become creative and implemented the use of different and varied electronic resources to reach our students learning from remote locations. And everyone, whether they wanted to or not, grew in their use of technology!

Whether you see these past months as a blessing or a negative, we have all come through it and are now on the other side and, I believe, are stronger for it.

As we move into the 2021-2022 school year, I pray that we take what we have learned, reflect on the strengths and challenges, and move forward with those things that are in the best interest for our students, staff, families, and the community of Lorraine.

While there are many cliché phrases used to describe our journey, I believe that we are in this together and that we are stronger in numbers. I am looking forward to a more traditional school setting, fueled and improved by the lessons and opportunities afforded to us during our time of virtual and concurrent teaching and expect that our students, staff and families will once again rise to the top.

We are Lorraine, we are RCPS and we are World Class!
